Across our Estate, we manage in excess of 80 buildings including 15 catering outlets, 10 residential buildings, numerous sporting facilities and even our very own arts centre. Our team services over 60 lifts, around 600 WCs and over 200 acres of stunning Green Flag grounds.
Buildings and Grounds
Study Spaces
Outside of the library buildings, there are many other spaces across our campuses where you can find a quiet spot to study.
Take a look at our online guide to campus study spaces here.
Outside Spaces
Our amazing Green Flag grounds are open to all and offer a therapeutic environment for you to relax in and enjoy. You can explore our grounds and outdoor spaces here.
Our Buildings
Our teams are responsible for keeping all our campus buildings running smoothly.
Across our campuses, we take care of over 85 buildings. Five of these are listed buildings, with Singleton Abbey dating back to 1784. We run 15 catering outlets, service over ten different sports facilities across our Swansea Bay Sports Park and manage at least ten residential buildings.
We aim to maintain our buildings and facilities to the highest possible standard, whilst working towards ambitious safety, sustainability and accessibility goals.
Heating Our Buildings
In line with our commitment to being zero carbon by 2035, we heat our buildings from 1 October through to 30 April each year. You can read our heating and comfort policy here.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Accessibility on Campus
We want everyone to be able to make the most of University life and feel confident using our campuses, facilities and services.
We're committed to creating an inclusive environment where students can study, work, socialise and access support without unnecessary barriers. As part of this commitment, we regularly review and improve our buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces to help make our campuses as accessible as possible.
Plan Your Visit with AccessAble
To help you prepare before arriving on campus, we've partnered with AccessAble to create detailed accessibility guides for many of our buildings, services and facilities. The guides provide practical information to help you understand what to expect and plan your journey in advance.
You'll find information on:
- Accessible entrances and step-free routes
- Parking and drop-off locations
- Lifts and accessible toilets
- Teaching, study, sport and social spaces
- Building layouts and other accessibility features
Whether you're new to the University, visiting a building for the first time, or have specific access requirements, the guides can help you navigate our campuses with greater confidence.
